Wet Fur 1970 Much more than a band, Wet Fur was an explosion of adolescent creativity. We took our music and homespun performance art to the people in our backward, rural county, wherever and whenever we could find a patch of ground to set our ladders up. I started writing songs and singing with John Guffin in my senior year in high school, and Mom introduced us to Mark Norris and Beau McManus shortly after. Most of our antics took place during a single summer, but it was one hell of a summer. When I left for college, we organized an all-day and all-night "Final Concert" on the Farm, serving food, with all our friends and fans in attendance. We played on a porch that stretched the whole width of the farmhouse, surrounded by fifty candles, with the audience sitting on the lawn. John, Mark, and I stayed close and have continued to work together sporadically. |
