Prius Energy Monitor

Solar Community in Alberta

House by the River

Gas-Saving Cars, Solar Communities, & Self-Sufficiency

Several friends are joining the Prius brigade. Liz Reese and Lyle McRae, Jay Howlett and Barbara Patton, and most recently Philippe Cohen and Cindy Stead, are watching their Energy Monitors and competing against themselves to achieve better and better fuel efficiency.

Liz and Lyle are also moving to North America's first solar community, Drake Landing in Okotoks, Alberta, outside Calgary.

Adrienne Knute and Carl Faber have moved from the remote East Mojave, where food is sparse, water rare, and neighbors dozens of miles away, to a remote canyon in New Mexico where fresh water runs year-round, food is raised locally, and all the neighbors are in walking distance.
